MEANING & CONTEXT: Michael and his brother, Fredo, had a small misunderstanding over some family business. Not wanting it to turn into a “big thing,” Michael decides to discuss his feelings with his older brother. He opens up to Fredo one night at a local watering hole. At the end of this touching scene, Michael gives Fredo a loving Brotherly kiss to show him he harbors no ill will. OK… not really. Mike pegs Fredo as a squeal, then lets him know that he knows. He promises not to do anything about it til after his Mother dies, and as soon as Mamma Corleone is in the ground, Fredo sleeps with the fishes.
